We were lucky enough to arrange a Q&A session with Jo Purvis, Director of Key Accounts and Marketing UK at Blueprint Gaming, and learn more about the recently released hits. We asked some questions about the provider’s Jackpot King progressive system and found out exclusive details about its popular games. Let’s see what Jo said!

Welcome, Jo! Thank you for taking the time to chat with SlotsWise. To start off, could you introduce yourself and Blueprint Gaming to our readers?

“I’m Jo Purvis, Director of Key Accounts and Marketing UK at Blueprint Gaming. I’ve been at Blueprint Gaming for over a decade, largely focused on overseeing and maintaining our strong partnerships with some of the world’s biggest operator brands. I’m also heavily involved in the overall marketing strategy, ensuring our content is visible across a wide audience and building brand awareness within new and existing markets.”

Blueprint Gaming is one of the leading providers in the iGaming industry. What’s the best thing about working there?

“Firstly, it’s great to be involved with such a highly-reputable gaming company that produces quality content. It makes a real difference to know that the games we develop are well-received by a large section of players. We truly value their continued support and want to develop even more immersive games they can enjoy.

Alongside the content, the overall culture we have here at Blueprint is fantastic. We’re a close-knit team that works incredibly hard to provide the best service for operators, but we also socialise outside of the office environment as a group.”

You saw tremendous success with branded slots, as has been seen with the release of the Rick and Morty™ Jackpot King version. How do you manage to land deals with license holders of movies and TV shows?

“It often comes down to our reputation for delivering quality branded games that maximise the potential of a licence holder’s intellectual property (IP). The development process for these types of games is much harder than you would anticipate, which is why so many branded games enter the marketplace and fail to resonate with players. The fact we’ve been able to build multiple games around iconic franchises such as Rick and Morty™, Ted™ and The Goonies™ speaks volumes for the trust that licence holders place with Blueprint.”

Your Jackpot King progressive system is one of your most popular innovations. Can you explain how it works?

“Jackpot King is the original and best progressive jackpot system available in the online environment. Within the base gameplay of a Blueprint game, a fixed number of Jackpot King symbols will need to land to gain entry to the jackpot mode. Players are then presented with a mini-game that deploys Hold and Win mechanics, where they spin the reels to collect crowns and earn a total bet multiplier.

After each spin, players pick one of four king’s treasures to determine whether they continue playing or collect their prize. By accumulating 15 or more crown symbols, users enter the Wheel King where they could claim a huge win multiplier or one of the three progressive jackpots on offer.”

Apart from Jackpot King, what other features or innovations are you most proud of?

“We’ve introduced multiple game formats to our offering that has allowed players to experience their favourite Blueprint titles in a different way. Fortune Play is one such example and continues to grow in popularity, allowing play across four reel sets simultaneously.

During this mode, we’ve made sure the features activated within one window can be transferred to others, illustrating there’s a lot more to this concept than just four reels spinning at the same time. The latest game to feature this is Fruitopolis Fortune Play, a classic theme but with exceptional graphics and features.”

SlotsWise loves your slots, especially one of your latest releases called With Upon a Cashpot. Could you give our readers a short introduction to the game and why they should play it?

“For those who enjoyed our original hit “Wish Upon a Jackpot”, this is a great follow-up version that incorporates the game’s key characteristics, as well as offers alternative gameplay with the inclusion of our Cashpot system. The rules of Wish Upon a Cashpot are simple, land between three and nine golden eggs and instantly win the corresponding cash value listed in the prize table.

We’ve rolled out the Cashpot mechanic in other titles of ours, including Fishin’ Frenzy and Deal or No Deal™, adding another level of excitement to proceedings that offer unique moments in gaming.”

In the Deal or No Deal™ Banker’s Bonanza slot, you combined awesome features (like The Banker’s Trail and Banker’s Bonus Spins) with huge payouts. What was it like developing this game?

“We enjoy developing games around the legendary Deal or No Deal™ IP and they remain very popular with players. Having released so many different variations over the years, the onus is on us to create new versions that still attract the interests of a wide audience, but it’s a challenge we very much thrive upon.

What makes Deal or No Deal™ Banker’s Bonanza so intriguing is the use of Scatter Pays, which requires eight or more matching symbols to award a prize, with at least six consecutive cascades activating a bonus feature. The gameplay is very different to what players have experienced before with a Deal or No Deal™ theme, demonstrating our ability to take these games forward with new mechanics and features.”

In your own opinion, what are the key reasons behind your games being received so well amongst the players?

“It’s a combination of factors. From the outset, we have a variety of game themes and mechanics to meet the expectations of a broad player base. From classic titles based on traditional math models to gameplays packed with a multitude of bonus features and modifiers, we offer a game type for everyone to enjoy.

On top of that, we build on each game’s mechanics by offering a great narrative, superb graphics and transitions, as well as some funny moments along the way to bring a smile. We’re perhaps best known for offering comedy-style slots, which make for a really enjoyable experience for those looking for some light-hearted casino entertainment.”

If you could choose one, what would you say is your favourite game from your competitors?

“As big slot players ourselves, we’re always intrigued at what the new and emerging studios are developing. In particular, Lucksome has created some exciting games that include interesting features, such as Lucksome Locks, which adds another dimension to the gameplay when players miss out on activating a bonus feature by one symbol.

At an additional cost, Lucksome Locks holds existing scatter symbols to raise the potential for players to trigger a bonus. Lucksome games are available through the Blueprint RGS platform and are live with a host of online operators, with initial data suggesting they are growing in popularity.”

What can we expect from Blueprint Gaming in the upcoming months?
